Tech Prep is a federally funded educational program designed to better prepare students to enter, and succeed in, their chosen professions. The emphasis is on partnerships – high school teachers, community college instructors and local businesses working together to create pathways of study that result in graduates who know what is expected of them as professionals and have the entry level skills needed to succeed. Tech Prep students save both time and money by earning free college credits while still in high school.

                                              Who is eligible?

Public high schools in Pima and Santa Cruz Counties with Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are eligible to offer Tech Prep classes. High school courses that qualify for Pima Community College credits are called "articulated" courses. Articulated courses vary from high school to high school, so take a look at Tech Prep Programs by High School to find out what is available at your school.

High school students who wish to take Tech Prep classes, and qualify for free Pima Comm-unity College credits, will need to discuss it with the class instructor, or a guidance counselor or the Tech Prep Site Coordinator at the school before registering for the class. College credits are awarded to students who earn a "B" or better in the class and apply to Pima Community College before completing it.
