About Us |
Tech Prep is unique because of the partnerships it develops between instructors in high schools and at Pima Community College. High school classes that are comparable in design, content and rigor to PCC courses in the same subject areas can be articulated, and students who earn a B or better in those classes may also earn transfer credit at PCC. The formal agreements that spell out the details of the classes - articulation agreements - are the foundation of the Tech Prep program. Articulation agreements are reached through a cooperative process that takes place between the Tech Prep program leadership, high school site coordinators and PCC faculty facilitators. The agreements guarantee that students taking articulated classes receive instruction in high school equivalent to instruction at PCC, giving them the opportunity to earn PCC transfer credit and high school credit at the same time. Articulated classes eliminate duplication and save students time and money when they need it the most. |
