What are my credit options?

Once you decide to sign up for Tech Prep classes you’ll need to take a look at how you want to earn the credits. There are two ways to do it: articulated classes and dual enrollment. Either way will get you to the same destination but one path may suit your situation better than the other so take some time to learn about both of them.

Dual Enrollment means you are enrolled in your high school and in PCC at the same time while taking Tech Prep classes at your school. The credits you earn show up on your PCC transcript as credits earned at the college, not credits earned at your high school and transferred to Pima.

Articulated Classes are classes that are taught in a sequence, from basic to advance. A Tech Prep articulated class is an advanced class 11th and 12th graders take whose course work has been exactly matched (articulated) with the course work of the corresponding class at PCC. Because the high school class and the PCC class have been articulated, Tech Prep students who earn an A or B in the high school class and have a PCC student number earn high school credit and also earn transfer credit for the class at PCC.
